Last weekend, we went to George Washington's home, Mount Vernon, with some friends: Wade, Alicia, and their baby Jonathan. It was so amazing to walk through his home and try to imagine what his life was like. Mount Vernon lays right along the Potomac River and you can't beat the view. When Teegan first saw a statue of him, he said it was Jesus. We saw George Washington's sword, his dentures, a gold telescope that belonged to him, and his very own desk and chair in his office. It was pretty surreal to think about the important decisions he must have made in that very chair. We also saw his tomb, with his wife beside him. Then we went on a "National Treasure Tour". The tour guide took us in the basement and showed us various places where the movie, National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets, was filmed. I heard about 2 words of that tour...too busy trying to keep kids happy, which isn't always easy! We then went and ate our lunches from the cooler in the car. We have had so much fun going on historical adventures, and i'm sure there will be more to come over the next four years.

How fun to see all the places you get to visit. We've been to a few of them and it's bringing back memories of the trip we took with Mark's parents. And as usual, all the pictures are very cute! We're going to miss you guys at Thanksgiving! :(
