An Extended Visit..

June:

So since my sister Lexie was due, with her first baby, 3 weeks after the kids got out of school, we decided to stay and wait it out. We didn't want to miss out on all excitement! Plus this baby has been a long time coming. They had waited very patiently to become parents. 

Although we missed Josh terribly it was such a blessing to spend so much time with my family before moving. It gave me the closure I needed. So grateful for a husband who was supportive and understanding. I think (and hope) my parents enjoyed their time with the kids. I loved seeing my dad say his goodbyes to each of them in the morning when he would leave for work and my mom came home and went right to them. 

I must say..it is so fun to see my parents as grandma & grandpa. They have such a sweet relationship with the kids..with their little inside jokes, air hugs from a distance, and teasing. Reminds me of my childhood. Makes me happy. 

Swimming and taking an ice cream break. That's what summer is all about! 

There is a 10 year old boy that lives across the street from my parent's house. Teegan wanted so badly to play with him, but he's older and pretty cool in Teeg's mind. It took him some time to work up the courage to go knock on his door and ask him if he wanted to play. 

I was even role playing with him to show him it wasn't a big deal. Teeg sometimes analyzes things.

I was one proud mama when I looked out the window and saw them chatting on their scooters. A little victory. (Yes..i'm like the paparazzi.) 

We had fun playing at Jensen's Grove with cousins.

One day all the girls & kids went to Rexburg for lunch, dying hair, and decorating a nursery. Afterwards the kids rode on the carousel and went down the water slide in the cold wind. 

It pays to have a sister that does hair. It's always a party!

This was not our typical Father's Day! No breakfast in bed...but FaceTime in bed is as good as it gets. We sure love this guy!

This dad sure puts up with a lot of girls. We are blessed that he is ours.

We felt adventurous one day and went on an outing to Crater's of the Moon. A national monument where long ago a volcano erupted. We had a picnic and hiked. There was NO shade in sight. I was glad the kids handled it so well. They enjoy exploring new territory and I love that about them.

Papa & Max. Melts my heart.

Dad, Brylee and the kids went down into a cave. Mom, Max and I stayed at the top cause it was a little too treacherous. Mom found a good resting spot, hoping for some shade. On her way over there were a few loose rocks that moved. We started imagining the rocks rolling down and covering up the cave. We got pretty giggly and it was a terrible thought. We were clearly delirious.
