Ahh..the Island Park. There is no better place to be.
We went to Big Springs to feed the fish, but it ended up mostly being the birds. They were everywhere. And the kids were kind of freaking out about it! ha.
Teeg and Ella got pooped on by the swarming birds who wanted their bread..
Josh and I ventured out on our own for a getaway. It was 2 days and 1 night and we were so incredibly happy to just focus on each other, even if it was short. Jeff and Becky were so kind to take on our littles. (Elizabeth headed back to Seattle for some classes. Bummer!) Ivy is still nursing but takes a bottle most of the time so I was nervous and even wakes up once in the night. They were so kind to take her on. It's hard leaving my babes for the first time! I always miss them terribly, but it was a much needed time away. Happy birthday to us!
We first hit up West Yellowstone. We did some shopping and eating. It was nice to go into stores with collectables that we usually pass on by because the kids are with us. We took our time!
Then we headed to Big Sky, Montana for some hiking. The trails were beautiful and oh how we miss the pines. Such a happy smell!
We checked into this quaint lodge after dinner.
The next morning we went to Bozeman, MT for some adventuring. We walked around the downtown, ate of course and did some antique shopping. We also hiked another beautiful waterfall and tried to not get eaten by horse flies. We had to run at one point!
I can't get over the views!
On our way back to Island Park, we stopped at the playmill which is always a must. We watched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers...while we ate our fudge from the candy shop.
Getting photos like this sent to us, made me realize they didn't miss us one bit.
